LEAD Prep Academy Promotes Louis Adams to GM and Denard Robinson to Interim Head Coach

Updated: Nov 26

Brighton, MI – November 8, 2024 – LEAD Prep Academy has announced the promotions of Louis Adams to General Manager and Denard Robinson to Interim Head Coach. The program will begin an immediate search for a permanent head coach, with Coach Robinson considered a strong candidate for the position.

“This has always been the plan.” Said LPA Athletic Director, Eric Figurski “Coach Adams was the right person to lead the program in year one and we are now positioned for growth with him as GM. We are excited to name Coach Robinson as Interim Head Coach. He believes in the program and has set the standard with his approach and body of work, as a former athlete and coach.”

Robinson is an NFL veteran and the all-time leader at the University of Michigan for total yards (10,172) and touchdowns (91). In 2010, he became the first player in NCAA history to throw for over 2,500 yards and rush for over 1,500 yards in the same season, finishing sixth in Heisman voting. After his NFL career, Robinson transitioned to coaching with positions on staff with Jacksonville University, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and most recently, Michigan, during the program’s 2023-24 National Championship season, this past year.

“I’m excited to get to work,” Robinson said. “Our goal is to recruit the best players in the state and country, work extremely hard, and compete in everything we do. We will develop these young men, on and off the field.”

Robinson is stepping into a program that is ready for takeoff, as LPA exceeded expectations in its inaugural season under Coach Adams. The program fielded a roster of over sixty-five student-athletes and played a 10-game national schedule in 2024. The schedule, designed to combine recruiting exposure with memorable experiences, included six games against JV teams from DII programs that were actively recruiting the Kings roster, a trip to West Point to play Army’s JV in the iconic Michie Stadium, and a final road trip of the season to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a bowl-game feel.

Coach Adams will lead the team onto the field for the last time this Saturday as the Kings play their final game of the season at home at the Legacy Center in Brighton, Michigan at 6pm.

“I am excited for this team to end the season at home, playing at a high level.” Said Adams, “We have a talented group of student athletes that believed in the vision of this program and that should be celebrated. Then it’s back to work. We have the Legacy Midwest College Showcase on December 5th and are actively building our roster for Spring Ball, starting in February. It is an exciting time to be a King.”
